A Clockwork Orange and why it's so Right Right!!

A clockwork orange was one of the movies on that list of mine that I had not yet watched. I was lucky enough to watch this recently and in Blu Ray too! This movie was pure genius, a movie way ahead of it's time and so unique too. I can honestly say I have never seen a movie like this one nor do I think I ever will! After seeing Full Metal Jacket (also directed by Kubrick) I wanted to see this movie even more since I had loved it so much! That too was yet another amazing one of a kind movie!

Stanley Kubrick, the director could not have found a better actor than Malcolm McDowell to play Alex, the demented sociopath that should be despised by everyone yet loved by most. In certain parts of the movie you also feel sorry for him which is just wrong, especially when you watch the whole movie and see what a piece of work he truly is.

When I end up thinking about a movie I previously watched a week ago I know the Director did their job and did this well. Most movies you watch and easily forget about in an hour or so, if the movie is amazing however you constantly find yourself thinking back to specific scenes, whether they were funny, sad or even of a scarring nature.

One specific scene in this movie left me horrified yet I found it was vital to the story, to truly understand just how sick Alex could be. The part of the movie I am referring to is the rape scene, where Alex takes pleasure in terrorizing a couple in their own home, and does so whilst dancing and singing to Gene Kelley's 'Singing in the rain.' I know that whenever I hear that song in the future it shall put me right back to that scene I watched in A Clockwork Orange. This also happened to me in Reservoir Dogs with 'Stuck in the middle with you.'

I am going to leave you with a particular clip of Clockwork Orange and if you have not yet decided to see this Stanley Kubrick classic, make sure you watch this movie before the end of the year! Classic, unique and interesting movies such as this one should not be missed.
