Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels vs Chinatown.
/I decided to watch two movies from the IMDB 250 list, one was amazing whilst the other was a real doozy! Can you guess which one? The first movie I watched was Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels, this movie was an absolute joy to watch. Guy Richie has an amazing unique talent at directing, he puts his signature stamp on his movies especially when he films the slow mo scenes. The part where they are drinking in the bar is one of my favourite scenes! Snatch also has an epic scene where Brad Pitt is knocked out and looks as if he is drowning. It truly is a work of art and genius.
As you can tell, Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels was the good movie. Unfortunately, I do not share the same love for Chinatown, the movie lacked excitement, action and a decent story. I would not recommend this movie to anyone and frankly I am quite shocked that this movie was even in the top 250 films to be watched, since the movies are voted by viewers such as myself.
Besides being way too long, this movie was a total miss. Roman Polanski may have had some directorial masterpieces but this movie was definitely not one of them. I always assumed that whatever movie Jack Nicholson starred in would be epic, sadly the day has come where this is not so true.
I will continue my quest to watch all 250 movies and I hope to find more movies as good as Lock, Stock and two Smoking Barrels and less like Chinatown!!
