Family members in all regions of the world!

You guessed right, this may be a little soppy for some of you out there!

A few months ago I made the brave decision to leave my family and move to another country. As exciting as this move sounded it was also the most scary thing I've ever had to do and here's why.

No matter how old you get, you always feel safe and comforted with your family around you. Some families are not close however I am extremely close to mine and living away from my parents is especially hard.

Being able to drive over to your parents house in under half an hour is a luxury I definitely took for granted and had I known then what I know now I would have been going over to their place on every single possible occasion.

Missing your family is the hardest when you're sick like I am today, all you want is to be taken care of like you were as a child. Even if some of us say that's not the case, you are lying to yourself, no one can take care of you better than your parents can.

Soon I am going to have one parent in Europe and the other one in Canada, not sure how hard that is going to be since I would be even further from one of them. You know that eventually the tables will turn and you will want to be the person that takes care of them, so how will I manage this?

Only time will tell, all I know is that I will always be there for them like they are always there for me.

I must admit, technology has definitely made this easier with the wonderful Skype. I get to talk to my family on a daily basis through video and at least we get to see each other, even if it is over a screen. So I guess I will have to make do with Skype, but on a positive note I keep having an excuse to book a flight!
