"It'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night... mostly."

I am quite proud at how brave I was recently, I, THE biggest scardey cat watched Alien and Aliens in the same night! I know, even I can't believe it yet. Did I enjoy it? Well that is something different entirely. I will say this, it was a unique experience that's for sure. I feel a lot braver to watch a scary movie next time though as I did make it through those two movies in one piece, well sort of!

Did I scream? Oh yes, that was a given however. I will admit that I hid for many parts in both movies as I found it too much to take, especially those face huggers. Having a phobia of spiders did not help with them.

Scary parts aside, the movies were actually quite good. It took me a while to actually get those horrible movie parts out of my mind and think about the actual stories.

James Cameron created the right suspense for both these movies especially the first one. From both these movies I preferred the first one. I feel that having one Alien instead of many perfected this movie. I found the second Aliens movie had too much going on at the same time and too many Aliens which made the movie seem a lot less real. Alien on the other hand seemed completely real which is why it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Sigourney Weaver was the perfect actor for both these movies and I was so happy to see a woman kick ass for a change since most roles in such movies portray woman to be screaming messes as I would be in reality. However it truly was refreshing to see this woman save the day on more than one occasion.

If you have not yet watched these movies I recommend doing so, however make sure you have something to cower with in those truly frightening moments.
