Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
/I have always been a fan of John Hughes from a very young age, Uncle Buck was a movie I watched regularly, however I didn't get to the good stuff for some time. I eventually got around to seeing The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles in my Twenties but for some reason I skipped over Ferris Beuller's Day Off. As this was on the list my friend Kev was shocked that I still had not seen it so on it went!
After seeing the above movies I still feel that The Breakfast Club is the better of the four, it paved the way for so many great movies and that fist pump into the air at the end was perfect since it happened in the 80s, nowadays that kind of cheese would not go down well at all!
Now to get to Ferris Bueller. The movie was pure genius. Watching this movie made me nostalgic for the teen classics such as this one. I am normally not a fan of Matthew Broderick but he played this conceited character perfectly and in spite of that you still find yourself gunning for him till the end.
Alan Ruck was amazing as always, he always plays the loveable man in most movies he stars in and I don't think he could play a shady character as well as his normal roles. As for the leading lady however, I felt that Mia Sara looked too old for Matthew Broderick.
All in all, the plot was entertaining and kept me interested to see if he would get away with the perfect day off school that we kids always dreamed about. If you are in the mood for a feel good movie I definitely recommend this to put a smile on your face!
