Never Settle!

I can't count the amount of times I have watched Steve Jobs speak at the 2005 Stanford Commencement Speech. His speech was truly inspiring and reminds me that life is short and not to be wasted.

There was one specific part in his speech that I never forgot or ever will forget. Steve Jobs said:

Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

I can truly relate to this statement as I have not yet found what I love to do and this can sometimes be extremely hard to grasp. I always thought that by the time I was 28 I would be doing what I love to do, so far it hasn't happened but does that mean I should settle? Hell no! Great things can only be achieved when you are truly happy with what you do.

As Steve Jobs said, I'll know when I find it so I just have to keep searching until I do since I know I won't be happy until then. On days like these when I feel so deflated, I hop on to YouTube and watch this speech to remind myself that I'm not alone and others have felt or feel the exact same way I do.

Thank you Steve Jobs for igniting this hunger in me to achieve great things in my life and I can safely say that I won't settle.

If you are in need of your own inspiration why not watch this speech for yourself?
