Pastizzi ... have you tried one yet?

Pastizzi ... have you tried one yet?

After spending a good chunk of my life in Malta, leaving there was hard for obvious reasons such as friends and family but what I did not expect to miss terribly when I left was the food. The reason I say this is most countries have their own delicacies that help replace cravings, this specific hankering however cannot be fulfilled. What is this epic food I speak of? Pastizzi of course! Oh, I do miss a good pastizz!

When life gives you lemons - make lemon squares!

When life gives you lemons - make lemon squares!

All you sweet lovers are going to be happy this week. I, like many, am a massive chocaholic but sometimes I crave something different, something tangy and fresh to go with this gorgeous weather. I ensure that I have lemons in the fridge at all times for occasions such as these. I once came across this recipe found in Cakes and Cookies, a Flame Tree book.

Pasta Bakes - All Time Favourite Comfort Food!

Pasta Bakes - All Time Favourite Comfort Food!

Having a career can sometimes leave one short on time for certain tasks such as cooking.

That is why we all have those 4 or 5 dishes we can rely on when time is against us. One of my 5 dishes is a good old pasta bake, once everything is mixed together and placed in the oven all that I need to do is relax and wait for it to cook with a nice glass of wine. So today I decided to share one of these recipes with you and I hope you like it as much as I do.

I have never been a fan of Woody Allen movies ... until now!

I am finally a fan of Woody Allen and all it took was for me to watch a 1977 movie instead of his recent stuff instead, go figure!

Going back to the Empire top 500 movies of all time, I decided to watch Annie Hall and it was one of the best movie selections I have ever made. I was recently in Malta for a four-day holiday and was browsing the web for some in flight entertainment for my trip back to Dublin. After some time deliberating with my boyfriend Conor, we decided to watch Annie Hall.

A Clockwork Orange and why it's so Right Right!!

A Clockwork Orange and why it's so Right Right!!

A clockwork orange was one of the movies on that list of mine that I had not yet watched. I was lucky enough to watch this recently and in Blu Ray too! This movie was pure genius, a movie way ahead of it's time and so unique too. I can honestly say I have never seen a movie like this one nor do I think I ever will! After seeing Full Metal Jacket (also directed by Kubrick) I wanted to see this movie even more since I had loved it so much! That too was yet another amazing one of a kind movie!

Bash em in the head...that seems to work out.

For my birthday me and my friends watched yet another movie from Empires top 500, this time it was Shaun of the Dead.

I always put off watching this movie as I was worried it would scare the hell out of me! Thankfully this movie is a comedy and there were only a couple of scenes which I found hard to take. The more movies I see Simon Pegg in the more I love the guy.

The Goonies, Grosse Pointe Blank and Superbad!

I've been a busy girl lately with my movie list seeing as I have now moved to a top 500 movie list from 250! Because of this, I have also fallen behind with my movie blogging which is why I decided to write about these three comedies together. I will start by saying that from these three movies, Superbad is by far the best one and I'll tell you why.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have always been a fan of John Hughes from a very young age, Uncle Buck was a movie I watched regularly, however I didn't get to the good stuff for some time. I eventually got around to seeing The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles in my Twenties but for some reason I skipped over Ferris Beuller's Day Off. As this was on the list my friend Kev was shocked that I still had not seen it so on it went!

I'm giving her all she's got, Captain!

Recently my friend Kev convinced me to watch the latest Star Trek movie since this was on that never-ending list I set out to finish!! Funny thing is however, the IMDB list was constantly changing so I decided to use a different bigger list ... the Empire top 500 list! I am the first to always admit, that Sci-fi movies are not my thing, this time however I was pleasantly surprised and most of that was down to Simon Pegg. The more of his stuff I watch the bigger the fan I become.

The five year engagement is definitely not the perfect cookie!

The five year engagement is definitely not the perfect cookie!

After seeing Get Him to the Creek, I had high high hopes for Director Nicholas Stoller and boy was I disappointed. Me and my friend Stephen had seen the trailer for this new movie for weeks on end and we were both eager to watch this the moment it came out. Well today was the day we finally decided to watch this and now that I have I can safely say that we should have picked something else.
